Meeting Minutes: 08 September, 2003
EGSAC held its first meeting of the new school year this afternoon;
following are the minutes from the meeting.
1. The Student Concerns Document was submitted to the faculty in
May.
It is under review, and we expect to hear back in the near future.
2. The annual Long Pond retreat will be held this year from October
3-5.
Look for an e-mail advertising the event soon.
3. EAPS is entitled to two representatives on the Graduate Student
Council. Jenny Matzel will be one of ours. Maureen will speak
with the
GSC to ensure that those Joint Program students whose MIT department is
EAPS are represented in our count; the larger the number of graduate
students in a department, the greater the number of representatives to
which it is entitled.
4. Upcoming events:
A. Peer Hour will begin this Friday. Faculty are encouraged
to attend
too.
B. EAPS will host a weekly Wednesday at the Muddy Charles
on
September 17.
C. The Race to Stop Global Warming will be run this Sunday.
If you are
interested in running and would like more information, contact Cameron
Wobus.
D. Taylor Schildgen has purchased tickets and is organizing
a trip to
the game of the Women's World Cup Tour. If a cancellation should
occur,
a notice will follow.
5. The next meeting of EGSAC will be held on Monday, October 6 at
12:30.
Sincerely,
Rob Korty
EGSAC Secretary
