D ata Sucker (DS) is a Labview program designed to use the data dump facility of Sector 54 software. DS allows the user to transfer this data in real time onto another computer via the RS232 port and write the data to a file using the sample name as the file name (rather than the obscure file names of the Sector 54 software). Once written, these files can be opened in any program that accepts data in ASCII format (Tripoli, Word, Excel etc.). It also provides a complete data archive as well as a facility for making a temporary file so that data reduction can be done on a sample while the sample is being analyzed.
