Any mineral or rock with sufficient K to produce measurable ⁴⁰Ar can be analyzed. Mineral separates and whole rock powders sent to us are examined. There is an additional charge for samples that need additional processing, such as extensive hand picking, acid washes or cleaning. We can also crush and grind rock samples and do mineral separation, also at an additional charge. For other kinds of samples such as rocks sections, contact the Ar Lab.
