Research Interests
I apply high-precision U-Pb geochronology to the stratigraphic record and the calibration of Earth history. I develop high-resolution chronostratigraphies for marine and continental sedimentary basins, integrating their depositional history, biostratigraphy and records of paleoenvironmental change.
Topics I investigate:
- Major events in the evolution of Earth and life in deep time.
- Tempo of biologic evolution from the earliest life forms to dinosaurs.
- Paleogeography, orogeny and the development of continents.
