EAPS Writing Retreat – plus workshop with John Southard

Date: Monday, November 17, 2025 Time: 8:30am - 4:00pm Location: 54-820 | MIT Campus, Cambridge, MA
Categories: Workshops

Feeling stuck on your paper or thesis?

Or maybe you just can’t seem to find the time (or motivation) to sit down and write?

Join us Monday, November 17th for a full day of focused writing, good company, and free food (yes, really — coffee, tea, pastries, and lunch are all on us!), sponsored by the School of Science Quality of Life Grant Program.

This will be a special edition with a writing workshop by EAPS Professor Emeritus John Southard. He has been an editor for the Journal of Sedimentary Research for over 30 years and will share with us some common science-writing problems, errors, and fixes he has encountered over his career.

Everyone’s welcome — undergrads, grads, postdocs, researchers, and faculty alike!

Please RSVP to let us know a little bit about yourself, and if you have any dietary restrictions.
