Paul O’Gorman on using generative AI in climate modeling at MIT Generative AI Week
Professor Paul O’Gorman of MIT’s Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences discusses how machine learning can improve upon and overcome difficulties of current climate modeling techniques.
Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) Professor Paul O’Gorman was one of several MIT faculty to give a talk in November about the using generative AI in their research during MIT Generative AI Week. O’Gorman’s talk came during a half-day symposia on Generative AI + Health, which looked at research starting with the health of the planet, people, and how those two are intricately connected. The session was also chaired by EAPS Professor Raffaele Ferrari.
